This causes your muscles to be partially depleted of glycogen. Consuming carbs after your workout helps replenish them & begin to rebuild and repair. Carbs are not the enemy🙏🏻 -
During exercise the breakdown of muscle protein starts to happen which means a solid amount (I normally do 20-30g) of protein post exercise is necessary to rebuild your muscle and repair tissue. I always tend to go higher reps when it comes to arms (12-20 reps) as personally I feel they react better to more volume. Throw in a few of these after a push, chest or arm day for a complete workout.

Hard-Core. Get it?

If I can share with you anything today, it would be the healthy habits I’ve taken on the last few years, habits that have proven their benefits and that helped me get to the results I wanted.
-
The following tips are the ones I wish someone gave me when I first started, so here it they are :
🔸Hydrate yourself ! Drink your water at any and every time. Very often our brain confuses thirst with hunger so just drink your water, your body needs it so much.
🔸Avoid the sneaky calories if you’re trying to lose fat and/or weight. By that I mean, avoid drinking your calories, those drinks won’t fill you and they have most of the time none of the nutrients that a whole food will bring you.
🔸Eat wholesome, nutrient dense food !🍎🍌🥒🍠🥦🥑
Try to eat healthy, that doesn’t necessarily mean a boring salad, healthy can be fun, try different recipe with different foods, don’t get bored by your plate.
🔸Take 20% of your calories intake and have fun with it, eat some soulful foods, don’t restrict yourself, you can enjoy yourself ☺️ and you can still get closer to your goals!
🔸Stay active ! Just do a physical activity, not necessarily weightlifting, it can be swimming, dancing, hiking or anything really, but just try to stay active it’s great for the body, your heart and your mind. 🔸Lastly, life isn’t always rainbows 🌈 and sunshine’s ☀️, it doesn’t always go as planned and your results aren’t gonna be consistent, your journey will definitely have ups! But also have some downs, so don’t let bad day get to you, don’t let the negativity get you away from your goals, just take the time to reach them, commit to the journey and enjoy yourself while you’re on it. You can overcome anything if you set your mind to it, just push through the difficult times and everything will be fine.

Degress not progress...Between these there is about 3 months... Two of those were sat on my ass doing nothing feeling sorry for myself and not fueling my body properly. Also the struggle of getting back into training is real 😩
I'm not happy with my body at the moment, but I'm not ashamed of it. Learning to love myself at every stage of the journey, setbacks or not. also back to eating to gain and training 3-4 times a week, the comeback is coming! 😎

Golfers, we are back for another segment of #Weeklywisdom with @coachkda110 Kirk Adams of @Equinox discussing hip internal rotation which is key for a powerful and efficient golf swing and a healthy low back. 🔳In the 1st video you’ll find one of Kirk’s favorite exercises to help improve hip internal rotation. This can be done at home or at the course, before a round, or during a workout as active rest between your strength and power exercises. 🔳“Lie on your back, place something like a yoga block or towel between your legs, and put your feet flat on the wall with your knees and hips at 90 degrees. Keeping one foot on the wall and your low back flat on the ground, exhale and rotate one foot as far away from the other as your can. Inhale as you return your foot to the starting position. I usually perform 2-3 sets or 5-10 reps on each leg and you could do this every day.” ◼️In the second video, I show you how flaring your feet at set up can help increase hip rotation in your backswing and downswing, creating more consistency in your golf swing. 🔳Give @coachkda110 a follow!
