Megan and I were talking about self sabotage and it just clicked - that’s exactly what I do. ⁣

Why? Because all my life people have left, things didn’t work out, I was never the prettiest, I was always told no. It was like I was always struggling.⁣
⁣
I’m just used to that - it’s all I know. So now, everything is my life is amazing in all aspects - yet somehow I still look for things that are wrong or things that are gonna happen. ⁣
⁣
I am working on that and realizing that I am worthy of everything I have in my life. That good things can happen to me because I fckin deserve it and worked for it. ⁣
so here’s to continuously growing and fully accepting all the good things 🙌🏻

So this is what I call my #sweetpotatobananamash 🍠🍌 & it’s SO freakin good 😍

I know I have some of the weirdest food combos 🤷🏼‍♀️, but trust me, they all taste amazing... especially this one!! 👏🏼

Basically, it’s just a baked sweet potato, sliced up bananas & cinnamon - mash it all up (add more toppings like peanut butter, almond butter, maple syrup, etc. if you want 🍯)

If I could recommend 2 foods that just about everyone should start incorporating more of into their diet, it would be potatoes & bananas. They’re literally perfect foods! 🙌🏼

A lot of the people I work with say they’re afraid of these 2 because they’re “high in carbs” 😅 - Yes, they are “high in carbs,” but those are good, starchy, filling, nutrient-dense carbs! 🙏🏼

I love them bc they’re great for balancing hormones (especially for irregular periods, PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, PMS, bad cramps, low libido, etc.), great for people who have been under a lot of stress, they’re super filling & satisfying, they help curb a sweet tooth, & they’re packed with tons of vitamins & minerals ✅

Day 17....... The pain! I am in pain DOMS!! I haven’t had proper Dom’s in ages. I forgot how horrible it is.
It’s Wednesday which means rest day for Ian and I. We both were looking forward to it.
I had my PBJ Smoothie again cause I love it, soup for lunch and baked eggs for dinner.
It wasn’t until after I remembered to take the photo so screenshots the bbc good food one.
I am feeling good this week. Ian and I have really stuck to this healthy lifestyle and genuinely love it.

If I can share with you anything today, it would be the healthy habits I’ve taken on the last few years, habits that have proven their benefits and that helped me get to the results I wanted.

The following tips are the ones I wish someone gave me when I first started, so here it they are :
🔸Hydrate yourself ! Drink your water at any and every time. Very often our brain confuses thirst with hunger so just drink your water, your body needs it so much.
🔸Avoid the sneaky calories if you’re trying to lose fat and/or weight. By that I mean, avoid drinking your calories, those drinks won’t fill you and they have most of the time none of the nutrients that a whole food will bring you.
🔸Eat wholesome, nutrient dense food !🍎🍌🥒🍠🥦🥑
Try to eat healthy, that doesn’t necessarily mean a boring salad, healthy can be fun, try different recipe with different foods, don’t get bored by your plate.
🔸Take 20% of your calories intake and have fun with it, eat some soulful foods, don’t restrict yourself, you can enjoy yourself ☺️ and you can still get closer to your goals!
🔸Stay active ! Just do a physical activity, not necessarily weightlifting, it can be swimming, dancing, hiking or anything really, but just try to stay active it’s great for the body, your heart and your mind. 🔸Lastly, life isn’t always rainbows 🌈 and sunshine’s ☀️, it doesn’t always go as planned and your results aren’t gonna be consistent, your journey will definitely have ups! But also have some downs, so don’t let bad day get to you, don’t let the negativity get you away from your goals, just take the time to reach them, commit to the journey and enjoy yourself while you’re on it. You can overcome anything if you set your mind to it, just push through the difficult times and everything will be fine.

Then I sat down on this rug, and in that simple movement everything stopped and gravity trebled. Now I’m here trying to wake up my body, by waking up my brain, by seeking blue light stimulation on social media - I need to move this body again and finish the day. Ive changed my insulin and my site, im drinking lots of water, but it just keeps rising. I havent had one of these days in awhile & all my energy is just gone 😫 •

INGREDIENTS
*	3 cups rolled oats or old fashioned oats
*	2 tablespoons light brown sugar
*	1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
*	1/4 teaspoon salt
*	1 teaspoon baking soda
*	2 large eggs
*	1/4 cup honey
*	1 cup bananas mashed
*	2 teaspoons vanilla extract
*	1 cup milk
*	1/4 cup coconut oil
*	1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
*	Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a muffin pan with non stick cooking spray.
*	In a large bowl combine the oats, sugar, cinnamon, salt and baking soda.
*	In a medium bowl combine eggs, honey, mashed bananas, vanilla, milk and coconut oil.
*	Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, do not overmix.
*	Fold in the chocolate chips.
*	Scoop batter evenly into prepared muffin tin.
*	Bake for 30 minutes or until set and the tops are slightly brown.
*	Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 10 minutes then remove to cool completely.

1 Tablespoon almond flour
4 large zucchinis, peeled with a veggie peeler

1 Tablespoon minced parsley
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, about two minutes. Add the coconut oil, and once it’s melted, add the almond flour and a pinch of salt.
Stir often with a wooden spoon, until it’s toasty brown, about two minutes. Remove crumbs from the pan and save for garnish.
In the same skillet, add the peeled zucchini noodles. Sauté them until just tender, about one to two minutes. Turn heat to low.
In a new pan on low heat, combine olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes, stirring with a spoon until fragrant, about 20 seconds.
Transfer the zucchini noodles to garlic and oil mixture. Toss and stir until they’re coated.
Turn off the heat and add parsley, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle with almond flour crumbs before serving. Enjoy!

Little Kobi (my dog) has diabetes 😞 In dogs, it’s typically type 1 - which means that the body doesn’t secrete insulin when blood sugar is high (aka after eating) in order to use the sugar for energy.⁣
⁣
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧? Insulin is the hormone that allows the body to use our food for energy. Kobi can’t make insulin, so we have to give it to him. ⁣
⁣
𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 is when the body doesn’t respond well to the hormone insulin, and thus is not effectively using the energy from your food. ⁣
⁣
How did we find out about Kobi? He started peeing EVERYWHERE in the house. Poor guy had his kidneys working in overdrive, trying to restore normal levels of sugars.⁣

شربت گلاب و خاکشیر
از اونجایی که هوا بس ناجوان مردانه گرم است، شربت گلاب و خاکشیر بخورید تا جیگر مبارکتون خنک بشه.
این خاک شیر امساله، اصطلاحا شسته شده هستش و نیاز به ریگ شور کردن نداره .
خاک شیر رو طرفای ظهر توی اب ریختم تا واسه خودش استراحت کنه و یذره پف کنه.
گلاب خیلی خوب داریم خونه.
و لیوان بزرگ
و البته یخ زیاد.
من شربت رو با شیرینی متوسط مایل به کم درست کردم
یخ و خاکشیر زیاد توش ریختم.
توی طب سنتی، برای تقویت گوشت( ماهیچه)قلب،کیالک توصیه میشه
برای آرامش ♥️،بهار نارنج
و برای اعصاب ♥️، گلاب توصیه میشه.
حالااااااا بعد از یه روز گرم و پر تنش ، شربت گلاب و خاکشیر با یخ و خاکشیر زیاد بینهایت میچسبه.
••میزان خاکشیر و شیرینیش کاملا سلیقه ای یه
فقط چون که گلابی که استفاده کردم خیلی خالصه، اگر زیاد بریزم تلخ میشه .
••حتی گاهی توی بطری آب معمولی هم یه قاشق گلاب یا عرقیات دیگه میریزم.
با ریختن عرقیات مختلف توی بطری آب، ذائقتونو به چالش بکشین و تقویتش کنین.
از خوردن این شربت ساده و اثر گذار لذت ببرین.

Nutrition in a pill? Seems like a good easy life hack, right? This is a topic of discussion that comes up often when my clients ask “what supplements can I take to fix _______?”
Let me first say, I am not a nutritionist but I find this subject to be equally fascinating and confusing. It turns out, with the total price tag of supplement purchases exceeding 28 billion per year in the US, I am clearly not the only one fascinated.

We hear constantly that skin is a reflection of our internal health and a well functioning body. In order for our body to function optimally then it must receive the proper nutrition to thrive. This is where supplements often come in, in an attempt to make up for what our diets lack, but is it that easy? Unfortunately, the answer is no, the supplement world isn’t black and white, in fact, it’s about as confusing as trying to navigate the beauty industry.(if not more!) It is unregulated and often lacks proof of both efficacy or harm. Let me clarify that that doesn’t mean I am saying multi-vitamins and supplements don’t offer benefit to some who are in need and everyone is on a unique health journey. Have I or do I take some form of supplements? Yes.

But, as humans continue to get more disconnected from nature and constantly seek alternatives in hopes to mimic it’s lively abundance, we become more sick. Our obsession with quick fixes and convenience is having a negative impact on our overall health. A vitamin D supplement can’t replace your ten minute walk in the sun, your multi-vitamin supplements cannot replace your colorful antioxidant rich trip to the farmers market, a protein powder won’t take place of that roasted organic whole chicken and adaptogens can’t take place of your meditation practice.

If we don’t start getting closer to nature and learning how to take care of the environment that gives us these gifts then all we will have is “nutrition” in a pill.
