First three videos are my awesome wife crushing it her training after two years of pregnancy and postpartum training she crushed and it’s basically back to her old numbers which is huge after being unable to train hard for 2 years! She is ready to crush her training for comp in Nov and is gonna set some big time PRs for herself! And my sister who is new to powerlifting crushing the goals she set for herself this cycle her form has come a long way and she is ready for some big progress! Anyhoo this is a sweet little biathlon of spinning and deadlifting. I’ve always felt that biking was a great activity to combine with a heavy compound leg-based lift.
Way better than running.
5 rounds of 3-5 minutes bike +
5 rounds of 6 reps conventional/sumo mix.

Definitely not meant to be a heavy day. 5x5 at 405 was planned, so I probably pushed it a bit too high going to 465. I knew going in that it wouldn't be a day to push PRs, so I decided to really work on 1 major technique improvement today and start hammering it in. I'm at the point, when I pull the slack out of the bar, that weight around 405 will break the ground. So today I worked on timing and using that momentum to increase my speed off the floor. It felt a lot better than effectively pausing at the beginning of my first rep every set, and this should carry over nicely to heavy singles when I get there.

Left work with a sinus infection yesterday and woke up with it. Still moved weight today. This is 405 (55 pound buffalo Bar) for 5 reps. First rep with a 3 second pause and the remaining reps normal. One of the most common mistakes we see when people perform the deadlift is not positioning their hips in a way that would optimize leverage for the lift.

The biggest things we’re looking for are:
✅Bar right over the middle of the foot
✅Armpit directly over the barbell. Hip position will vary depending on your levers and mechanics.

These two points put you in the best position to succeed in picking up the barbell! Having your shoulders way in front of the bar leads to a lot of unnecessary strain on the lower back as well as makes for an inefficient bar path.

Crazy how 2 years ago I could be barely do 225 because my back was all messed up. Did some exercises to strengthen my back. Also, went to chiropractor. Had to trust the process, but it is paying off. Trying to get to 500lbs. New PR of 425lbs. Big thing, no pain. Small steps leading to leaps in the future. 💯
