I do love working in tourism in Northern Ireland.
This Spring I’m hosting Erasmus Trainee - videographer @roberto_blanco_estudio from Spain in the #WatsonsMarketing office in Belfast. So when he said to me that he and his fellow Spanish Erasmus trainees were wanting to head to Newcastle, (where I’m from), my role as a licensed WorldHost NI Ambassador trainer for #DiscoverNI kicked right in.
I’ve recommended he considers for his preplanned itinerary: 📝 climbing to peak of Slieve Donard mountain - lots of advice on @walkni 📝 enjoying the sand dunes at the National Trust Murlough Beach - @ntmurlough 📝 meandering around Tollymore Forest Park and finding Foley’s bridge 📝 checking out Bloody Bridge 📝 Exploring Silent Valley
📝 Experiencing Magic Hill where your car (turned off, handbrake up and feet off the pedals) rolls itself back up the hill at Spelga Dam
📝 Finds his way around the Peace maze in Castlewellan Forest and Lake 🍦 Tastes Graham’s Ice cream and/or Mauds Pooh bear on Newcastle promenade
I’ve also advised that us locals know where to park without having to pay car park / entry fees, that he should consider hiring a car, plan the trip for when the weather is good, check out budget accommodation to stay over a night or two and that the May Day bank holiday weekend is coming up which gives him a long weekend but will likely affect accommodation availability and the crowds / traffic into Newcastle from Belfast direction if it’s ☀️ Any more advice you would add? Have you ticked all of the above off your to do list? #WorldHost #WorldHostNI #TourismTraining #WorldHostNIAmbassador #NorthernIreland #TourismNI #FillYourHeartWithIreland #NIExplorer #MourneMountains #Newcastle #EnjoyTheMournes #LoveTheMournes #CountyDown #AreaOfOutstandingNaturalBeauty #WhereTheMountainsOfMourneSweepDownToTheSea
