Really enjoyed my chest day the other day. Started of with a 2 mile run and then did some maintenance front Squats before jumping into the workout. The sweat was dripping for real.

-1. My first excercise was a super set. Seated Dumbbell overhead press followed by a front squat with the same weight. -2. The second video is a set of my light barbell front squats which I actually did before the first video. -3. Unilateral Floor Presses are something I've been experimenting with. I think I really like these and it's guaranteed to keep your shoulders safe 😊 -4. Incline Barbell Bench is a classic move. Nothing special here. Just trying to maintain. -5. Flat bench press. Moving the weight. Not gonna be PRing for a while on this because it's not in line with my goals. Managed to get 275 for 3 reps. Stopped there because it wasn't moving to easy. It's whatever. Just like I said, currently not training with strength as my main focus. Always keep in mind what your goals are so you are not getting side tracked in your training😊 -6. Chest flys on this machine has become my preference for chest accessories. Focus on that pectoral squeeze when you bring it in. -7. Throwback leg day from April. The fact that I did it in April is the only thing that is throwback about it. I still do these moves on my leg days. It's good to switch it up. I used 45 pound plates instead of dumbbells or a barbell for my lunges. I also did two different variations of the hack squat. On top of that, Romanian dead lifts are a good movement for building hamstrings, glutes and lower back strength. These can be done with dumbbells as well. Some seated Barbell OHP (overhead press) action. This was close to the end of a super barbell dominate leg workout wear I decided to get full use out of the HGH (Human growth hormone) flowing through me on my leg day and toss in some quick shoulders and biceps. I recommend this if you're looking to switch it up and and some more growth. Seated Overhead press has really started to grow on me. Everyone have a good Saturday and always rememeber to wear your gains on your chest. That means find your heart, find your drive and put it toward your effort used to crush any obstacle in front of you!

Working on the tempo of my movements. Slowing down, working on the eccentric parts of my chest movements. Some call this training the negative. Virtually, the whole idea behind this is you achieve more strength from focusing on the eccentric part of the movement because of the fact that you are controlling the weight down as opposed to letting it drop. For example, I do an eccentric flat bench press at 225 pounds in this video. I normally would allow the weight to drop and explode up. As a result I get more reps because my break is the eccentric. However, since my focus is the eccentric, I control it down the whole way. Significantly less reps are achieved. In turn, the strength to be gained will be limitless and more reps will be achieved with time! Use your time wisely in the gym! Happy Saturday!

Going to make this a regular part of my back routine. I'll keep y'all posted. As for deadlifts; I've been going strong with these since July of last year. In comparison it's an OG back movement. However, back day before 2018 was not a thing for me. I simply did lower body and upper body days. That was my split. Legs three times a week as well as chest arms and shoulders three times a week. And yes, cardio on each of those days. Anyways, I'm on my volume kick (gonna start experimenting with tempo/control as well). Stay tuned for results. Excited to become the best version of myself! If you're struggling with shoulder pain on bench, sometimes it's from an aggravated pre-existing injury, improper warm-up or and inbalance that is causing you to over compensate, widening your grip may be a quick fix. It worked for me. It might work for you. Fix the pain, fix the imbalances, increase your mobility, and then you will reach your full potential. Stay tight through the entire movement, shoulders back, squeeze glutes on the lockout and if you want to shorten the time it takes you to get stronger in this lift by strengthening your hamstrings, glutes, and back, practice controlling the weight on the way down for each rep. Just a non-comprehensive peek at a typical chest/upper body day for me. Finished out with some very beneficial body weight movements:
*Front Squats -engage the core, build legs, and your body produces a significant amount of HGH (Human growth hormone) during this movement to help other muscles grow.
(I recommend 3 sets of 5 if you're just beginning) *Flat Bench - I do a lot of volume on bench. I don't worry about weight too much anymore. Inevitably, my physical strength and aesthetic growth through progressive overload shoe positive results. I usually superset these with pull ups! (I recommend 4 sets of 10 when just beginning this movement) *Incline Bench - don't skip these! Build your upper chest and front delts. Find that balance and try incorporating this movement with dumbbells as well for better results. (I recommend 4 sets of 5 for beginning this movement)
*Dips - angles are πŸ”‘ I'm doing a more forward position to target more chest. If I were more upright, I'd be targeting more triceps. You can also do these assisted on a bench with your feet touching the ground or with bands or a partner. Some gyms have assisted pull up and dip machines! *Leg Tucks - great core burn. It's about time for me to add weight to this movement. *Toe to Bar - progression to a front lever for my intermediate to advance level calisthenics followers. This is a good beginner movement to put together the pieces of the puzzle!

Both the concentric and eccentric are important in building those Gorrilla Gains! If you're plateauing on your pull up reps, try this. The first thing to observe is the static hold at the top of the pull up. This is so underrated when people talk about what you need to build strength. Secondly, there is the eccentric move all the way down to the bottom. Don't let your body weight (or of your using additional weight) pull you down. Control it to a full hang at the bottom and then proceed to the next rep. It's okay if you can only do one for now. This is why you're training to get better. If your issue is the concentric part and you're unable to get yourself up. Start of with assistance bands, a partner or even jump up to the top of the movement (or step on something if you feel that's safer) and do a static hold like that. Aren't you ready to stop looking at others like what they are doing is unattainable? Don't you want stronger back? Or are you just tired of not getting more reps in for pull ups? Start with implementing this move into your workouts. 3 to 4 times a week. Everyone is capable. I don't care what your fitness level is.
